Genital warts are caused by certain strains of the human papilloma virus (HPV). There is a vaccine on the market(Gardasil) that protects against two strains that cause 90% of all genital warts. If you are female and uner 27, you can ask your doctor about getting the vaccine.
Genital herpes are caused by herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2 (usually 2). Herpes lesions occur as periodic, fluid-filled blisters the rupture, crust over and go away for a while. There is no vaccine for herpes yet.

they are very different. a genital wart is a wart on the genital area- highly contagious. herpes is also a sexual disease, but it is more of a oozing sore that spreads all over. they have a vaccine for the genital warts now, but still nothing for the herpes virus.
They are totally different but they are both viruses that are contagious and usually passed when you have unprotected sex with some one that has either genital warts or herpes.
Herpes can be treated with medication so that you have less out breaks, but the virus will be in your system for life. Herpes blisters can’t be burned off as with genital warts. The out breaks come and go. Genital warts can be burned off, but HPV (genital warts) is also permanent.
